Siberian Iris
It snowed again yesterday and even though it's not a lot of snow, I want it to go away! I want Spring! I think it is still snowing because I have not put the snowmen away (see front entrance)!!! Tomorrow they go into the attic!
So, I thought I'd make a card that was bright and cheerful. I pulled out Siberian Iris from Flourishes - I had not used this one in a lot time and it is such a pretty stamp. Flourishes has the most gorgeous flower stamps ever!
Recipe:
Stamp: Siberian Lily from Flourishes
Paper: Watercolor Paper, Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron, designer Series Paper Prints So Saffron
Ink: Black Craft Ink, Bravo Burgundy, So Saffron, Old Olive
Accessories: Clear Embossing Power, Watercolor Brush, Fiskers Corner Punch, Lace from Jacksonbell Embellishments

Teddy Bear Collection by Rachel Ann Miller
This card was made for the latest challenge on the Blog "Christmas Stamping All Year Long". The challenge is to use the colors purple, pink and blue. I immediately thought of this stamp set because the image is so cute and the colors would be perfect for it! Also, I can't believe I found some paper at my LSS that had all the colors in it! It's by heidie grace designs. The sentiment "for you" on the tag (right side) was computer generated. The two presents and tag were paper pieced using the heidie grace paper.
Check out the other Divas' cards - they are awesome! If you would like to participate in the challenge, check out the blog for all the deets. There's also a PCP group that you can join where you can interact with other members and have fun creating. It is certainly one way to keep in top of your Christmas cards for the 2009 season because it will be here before you know it!
Recipe:
Stamp: Teddy Bear Collection by Rachel Ann Miller

Ink: Black Stazon, Close to Cocoa, Lavender Lace, Bashful Blue, Pixie Pink
Accessories: Dazzling Diamond Glitter, 2 way glue, Watercolor Brush, Martha Stewart Snowflake punch

Bloomin' Beautiful
You are not going to believe this, but this card started out as a valentine card! I embossed and cut out a heart that was supposed to go on the card, but not matter how I changed the layout, it just wasn't working. The sentiment is computer generated and I cased it from another card on a blog. Sorry, but I cannot remember which blog or which company sold the sentiment.
The main image was stamped with black craft ink and then embossed with clear embossing powder on watercolor paper. I then colored in the flower and stem/leaves with crayons. I then used a watercolor brush to blend in the colors. I lightly sponged the background before removing the oval nestabilities.
Recipe:
Stamp Set: Bloomin' Wonderful
Paper: Watercolor paper, Bravo Burgundy, Pattern Paper by My Mind's Eye
Ink: Black Craft Ink
Accessories: Clear Embossing Powder, Watercolor Crayons (Bravo Burgundy, Certainly Celery, Old Olive), SU Flower Punch, Prima Flowers, Nestabilities Ovals (Regular and Scalloped), Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon, BasicGrey Brad, Sponge

Warm and Cozy Christmas
This card was made for the Christmas Stamping all Year Long Challenge. You should check out this blog and participate in the challenges - it's a good way to ensure that you'll have all your Christmas cards done and ready for the Christmas 2009 season. Also, check out the cards made by the other diva's - they are gorgeous!
I must have been thinking of my granddaughter Rachel when I colored this card. Doesn't the little girl in the card resemble my granddaughter - all bundled up? Okay, maybe not so much! The picture of Rachel was taken last week when we had all that ice and snow.
The stamp set is from Gina K and is called "Warm and Cozy Christmas". The snowflakes were punched out and then sprinkled with Dazzling Diamonds. Though you can't see it in the picture, I've also added glitter to the snow. The tag for the sentiment was inspired by one I saw on Melanie Muenchinger's blog Hands, Head and Heart. As you can see from the picture below, the tag does not lay flat. Thanks for stopping by!

Rose Tea Cup
Isn't this pretty??? When I saw this tea cup from Impression Obsession, I knew I had to have it. I'd seen it on another blog and I can't remember which one and fell instantly in love with it. I've also ordered Simple Pleasures (another tea cup stamp). I'll be posting that one in a couple of days.
The image was stamped in versamark and then embossed with black embossing powder. I find this so much easier to stay within the lines (just like coloring when I was a little girl!) if I embossed it. I used markers for the leaves and rose buds and a reinker and watercolor brush for the cups. I've also started using hot pressed watercolor paper instead of the cold pressed one - the surface is so much smoother.
The pattern paper is from BasicGrey and happens to be like the 6 x 6 pack of pattern paper (Sugared) I'm giving away to one lucky person. If you haven't entered the contest as yet, you only have until the 1st of February, just a couple of days from now to leave a comment. Click here to go the blog candy giveaway post.

Pocket Silhouettes, TSSC54
This card was made for TSSC Challenge #54 by Mary Jo from Techno Stamper. Mary Jo, you really stumped me this time! I redid the focal image so many times. Either the stamp was too small or too large. Also, you wouldn't believe how many images I cut out with the scissors just to see if it would like better mounted with dimensionals. No luck! So I settled on Pocket Silhouettes.
The main image was colored using Stampin' Write markers then stamped on Whisper White card stock. All the layers were embossed and cut using nestabilities. Nestabilities have turned out to be such life savers if you decide to use several layers.
Recipe:
Stamp Set: Pocket Silhouettes
Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Rose Red, More Mustard, Phoebe Pattern Paper by BasicGrey
Ink: Rose Red
Accessories: Stampin' Write Markers (Rose Red, Regal Rose, Sage Shadow), Rich Regals Brads, Small Oval Punch, Designer Label Punch, Prima Flowers, Oval Nestabilities, Square Nestabilities, Wizard
